The origin of this word is not known to many. I didn't know of it until i read it in a book i was very impressed with. So much that i couldn't put it down when the story was finished. To prolong the experience i started reading the Glossary of non-English words in the back. Can't say why, since it was a book about Indonesia and i'm from Indonesian heritage so i know most of the words used.

I scanned the listed words when 'Ismoyo' caught my eye. At first i just liked the sound of the word, with the added meaning made it my new, favorite word: 'Ismoyo: Ancient name for Indonesia'.
