New Plans and Patterns

It looks like i'm finding my groove again illustration wise. Spending time on a couple small custom design projects, freestyle pattern designing and long overdue promised illustrations brought some exciting new ideas to mind.

First of all, i'm going to set up an etsy shop for custom illustrations. I have already claimed ismoyoart.etsy.com, you can look, but there is nothing there yet. The whole idea needs to take shape first. I'm thinking of offering wedding (invitations and save the date cards) and baby announcement cards, standard designs that can be personalized with the appropriate names/dates and also custom designs of course. There will also be the option to order vector portraits, cute for newborn babies or wedding couples.

New drapes

The NY apartment finally got some drapes! That was a struggle i must say. I definitely was planning on making curtains myself, was looking for pretty and suitable fabrics for awhile now. Just couldn't find what i wanted. Or when i did they were way too expensive for our budget. Started looking around for ready made drapes. Oh, how i disliked everything i saw! How come American drapes are so ugly? And i don't want those frilly things on top! And those fabric choices! How could you? Do people actually want those in front of their windows? Drapes have such impact on a room, i don't understand. Hope i'm not insulting any one of you. If you happen to have American pre-made drapes with those frilly things on the top, i'm sure they fit in your interior perfect and yours are much prettier than all those i saw in stores. ;)
Anyway, i ended up getting these brown sheer drapes with flocked print on them. Not the most original of prints, but for now i'm happy with them. They were affordable and my hubby approved. I got them for the living room and Love mentioned we should get the same for the bedroom too. So i did. Had to adjust the length a bit, so i did get to do a bit of sewing on our drapes in the end!

Crazy about Color Cards

Don't you just love those color cards you find in the stores where they sell paint? Well, i do. ;)
Can't pass by without stacking up on some pretty colors. Yes, i know you're only supposed to take one of each color. I just love them so much and i know i will use them in a creative project of some sort one day.
(okay, confession, i took more than the ones in the picture. guilty of being a color card addict.)

I see a pattern here

I see patterns...
My eyes are attracted to patterns..

The two 'glasses' (they're plastic) I can sort of justify buying them. you know, you need them to have a drink. not counting all those glasses I already have in my kitchen.
But what about the two decorative balls? Haha. Sounds so not pretty. But they are. At least to me they are. And I found them in the bargain bin! Probably because nobody else knew what to do with them..
And there are the pink and green pre cut felt garlands which are cut in a lovely flowery shape. No clue what anyone else would use them for, but I know they will come in handy some day in a creative project of some sorts.

So much for spending money on items I could have lived without but sure love living with!

0,5 year wedding anniversary!

A little late, I'm running behind on things but i am catching up. Last week me and my love had our 0,5 year wedding anniversary. He took me to this cute restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I think it was called Beso. I always take cards or menus with me but this place didn't have any. We had a great evening. And look at the great designs they had all over the walls. Next time i move in to a new house and there are walls to paint i want to do this too!

Just before i went over to NY i bought a cute summerdress in Amsterdam. And i thought this was a good occasion to wear it. It makes me feel so cute and pretty! Can i say that about myself and still be humble? The dress just does that to me.

What a couple are we. I took our little glow in the dark duckies with us for a night out and, without knowing this, my love took the momma duckie with him too. So they kept us company throughout the evening.
