Have a Dollyday!

Still have some holiday shopping to do? Check out the recently opened store of UK based artist Rebecca Nia aka DollyDay. She makes the most fabulously cute jewellery and other accessories!

I especially love the line of holiday items (christmas pudding necklaces, gingerbread pins, candy cane necklaces!), but the 'all year round' products are too pretty too! If you're anything like me and obsessed with all things cute, you will drool over her candy necklaces - i think i need a smiley faced gumball machine on a chain! - the wonderland brooches and oh, did i mention the strawberry chocolates on a necklace that look so real you want to take a bite?

Got to love it. DollyDay. Go now. Drool. Enjoy.

Icey bracelets

It has been quite a while since i did anything jewelry related.
I picked these beads from my collection to work with because they are light and shiny, and at the same time remind me of ice, water and snow drops. Since summer is over it felt appropriate to go wintery. (But i think they will go well in spring too.)
They match wonderful with the silver bracelet that i always wear.
It was my first time using elastic wire and it was pretty easy to work with. Felt nice to be working with beads again. Hope to do some more in the near future.

Charms in color

Time to use some of my bright and colorful charms.
Cute to wear seperate or all together; charming?
They make me smile and eagerly look forward to springtime!

Charming in red and gold

More keychains will follow soon, but first i made this new charm bracelet.

Wearing it with proud. All though it wasn't too difficult to make. I'm getting the hang of using pliers, making chains, and turning beads into charms. Having fun with it and learning along the way.

Hello keychain

I used to have a totally cute little pink piggy on my key chain. if you pressed his belly a little red light went on. very handy for late nights trying to find the keyhole moments. times have long passed that the light worked and even the paint of his face had gone and rubbed off. but the little piggy stayed with me anyways. until it was his time. a small plastic ring that kept piggy to my keys had broke off. bye piggy. hello new keychain.
I think it came out nice. I'm happy with it. I'm all into cute and girly, but i like elegant too.
I have some more key chain rings so maybe I'll make some more. What do you think?

Charming

Finally, i sat down and made some jewelry. I truly enjoyed doing it again. I think the last time i made something like this, a necklace it was i believe, was in my early teens.
So it was about time.
As a little girl i always wanted charms bracelets. Loved the little dangling charms. Obviously I'm now making my own!
I also spent some of my time on making this loooong brown beaded necklace.

More bracelets are currently in progress!

Busy with beads

I have many beads and old jewelry parts around and i thought to myself, i should either not keep it all, it's cluttering up my space, or just sit down and use it. Make something.

It's been a loooooong time since i last made some jewelry so i got to get back into it. But I'm having fun, so i guess i will be making more soon.
Can we get some more hours in a day? Please?

More beads and jewelry parts

I'm being spoiled!
Love receiving the large bags of goodies from my Mom.

The necklaces are very long and nice. Some of them were broken. But hey, why throw them away, just because they chain broke? Spend a couple of minutes and it's back together and wearable again. And my mom is so sweet (and crafty too), so she fixed these before she gave them to me!

Jewelry parts and beads: 2

My mom came through again. She collected a couple of bags of broken jewelry parts at her work again and gave them to me to use in my creative projects!

I already got these over a week ago, but didn't post the pictures yet.

Earlier post of
jewelry parts and beads.

Jewelry parts and beads

My Mom is the greatest!
She works at this large department store selling and fixing watches. Her department also sells jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and so on. Sometimes customers aren't careful and rip things to pieces, or they fall on the ground and another person steps on it, or items are returned but can't be sold again. That way a lot of items and item parts are thrown away.
But not when my mom is working! She will go through the trash bin to get everything out of it again. She's like, why would you throw those things out? You can still make use of them. To recycle or just put back together again. Sometimes it's just one tiny thingy you have to re-attach and it's good again.
So, my mom saves up a lot of those parts and every now and then she brings me a bag of goodies I can use for my creative adventures! Love you mom!
I made this picture of some of the items I got this week. There are loads more, but I haven't found the time yet to go through all the ziplock bags.
