Time for a commercial break

I'm working on a promo plan for the last months of this year. Making a list and budget to advertise my site and shop.
I'm not crazy about putting ads on my blog. I like the clean feel of my layout and want to keep it like that as much as possible. I would never put ads right on top of my blog. I know advertisers would love that, but i don't have my blog for advertisers, i have it for my readers. Just like i would not want to have advertisers that are of no clear interest to my readers. Personally i don't like visiting a craft blog and get bombarded by ads that have no relevance. I understand that people want to make money, but i will not click those ads anyway. If there are ads on my blog, i at least want them to be of purpose, and thus i'm critical to whom i give my advertising space.

I already had google adsense on my sidebar. It's basically just there. Get clicks on a regular basis, but nothing major. Not sure how long i will keep it on there, when it started out, the ads were mostly really relevant to what i was writing about in my posts. Lately i see more and more ads that only relate in a very small way. Like i stated before, that's not something i like.

I have recently placed an Entrecard on my blog. Cross reference advertising. I'm not sure if i'll leave it here either. It does bring some more views to my blog, but the way that system is set up, those views are mostly people who just come by to drop their card (to gain more credits to be able to 'buy' advertising space) and leave again. Only a few where actual readers. I clicked through to a number of entrecard sites and there were just a couple that i really liked and added to my bloglines.

Another ad system i've added is Project Wonderful. I'm more enthusiastic about this system. There are a lot of great crafty and creative blogs with Project Wonderful so it's a perfect way to get relevant advertisers and reach a targetted audience. You can start without any funds and earn money to buy ads on other sites, or not and just see it as extra income.

On another (exciting) advertising note: Ismoyo items will be part of the November Sampler! More on this at a later date. If you don't know what the sampler is all about, check their site while you wait for the November boxes to come available.

In regards to my blog, i am back in a normal routine and back to (mostly) daily blogging!
I think this is actually the best news in this whole post, don't you think?

I love your blogs and have been missing them so it's great you're back!!

Good news you're going to be in the sampler, I'm thinking of giving it a go after Christmas. You must report back on how it works out!!

I'm not sure what to think about Entrecard either. I don't use it much, unless I happen to spot a drop card thingie on someones blog.

I really like Project Wonderful though :)

That's great about the Sampler!
