Shop Adventures

Ok. Shop Adventures. I'm not running to the postoffice arms filled with packages yet. I got a small number of orders in of which almost all were pre-orders for my upcoming craft book. (yeah) I am not complaining, starting out takes time. I am very grateful to get a lot of very positive feedback on my shop and the items i've made. It makes me very happy to hear that there are people believing in me and my creativity.
I'm very much trying to promote my shop, get to word out and hopefully i'll have some more to tell on this soon.
In the meantime i have finally listed some items in my Etsy shop too. For a while it has just been there. Empty. So i'm starting to get views on my products there too. No sales yet but i am confident. Of course my website shop is my main priority, but you can't get around the fact that Etsy is a great venue to reach a lot of people who otherwise hadn't discovered my shop yet. And those are mostly people who already have an interest in handmade goodies and have respect and love for the craftsmanship that goes into making your products.

I am happy to say i have gained a number of 'hearts' already. For those who don't know, a heart stands for someone who has put your shop into their favorites. Right now i'm at 30 hearts. You have an Etsy store? C'mon, give me another heart! You know you want to! ;)
The only thing (besides having to pay fees, i'm just being honest here) that i don't like about etsy is that you can't put a counter on your pages. I am a statistics addict! Something i got from the times i worked for internet companies, learning the importance of knowing your audience and where they come from. Luckily i have discovered the Heart-o-Tron on Majaba. You can type in your etsy username and it gives you a list of all your hearts on your shop, and there is also the option to check all your items with their separate hearts and number of views! Not a lot of stat info, but it's something and it looks like Etsy is thinking about offering some kind of statistics in the future. We'll see.

I also got my first feature in an Etsy Treasury! One of my cupcake cuties made the sweet list set up by QPdoll. I can't say i'm such an Etsy expert that i already exactly understand how those Treasuries work, but i do know it's flattering, and it makes me feel happy. So it's a good thing! And i think that if you would ever want to make the Etsy homepage, your item should first be listed in someones Treasury?
