Men's shirt turned into cute girly shirt
I found this ugly xxl men's shirt for 2.50 euro. Decided to buy it for a trial reconstruction project. If it wouldn't work it wouldn't have lost a lot. I think it did turn out nice, but not entirely how I wanted it to.
I like the flower applique, which I fist wanted to sew on the pocket, but that didn't work. Couldn't get my sewingmachine in between the fabric and I wasn't planning on doing it the hand sew way. So it ended up near my shoulder instead.
I made a sketch of how I wanted the shirt to end up, and drew some darts on it where I wanted the shirt to get some more shape. Uhm. I sewed them the wrong way, so it looks a bit weird. At least I figured out along the way how I Should have done it, so next time it'll be better.

I love the pink edging and the flower, the top looks great.
wow! that came out nice! the after is definitely better. good job!
Not a bad attempt at all! The concept was great and I loved the buttons and the piping! I've always wanted to learn how to sew in order to tailor my own clothing but...I'm terrible at it and have a short attention span. If I don't catch on quick I get frustrated and quit. Eh
What a clever idea and it looks so lovely!
i think it turned out really cute! i just stumbled across your blog a minute ago...ooooh how i would love to go to amsterdam. i will get to someday...the world is such a beautiful place so much to see in so little time...and even less money to do it with!
My honest opinion is that it would have looked better without the flower, but still, it's amazing how you managed to transform the shirt into what it looks like now! Cheers!
great job!
